How We Work

The Kindred Process

  • We'll start with a Registration call. This is an info gathering excercise - we’ll ask you about your family and what you need from a Nanny.

It’s super helpful (but not essential) if you’ve completed the My Perfect Nannyquestionnaire which takes you through some good points to consider when clarifying what you need from/in a Nanny.

The registration call usually takes around 15-20 minutes.
At the completion of this call, we charge our non refundable, Search Activation fee (£100 + Vat).

  • Using the information you’ve provided us on the Registration call, we will write up a Job Description for your role.

We will send you a PDF copy of this to confirm we have all the specifications correct.
Once the JD is agreed, we will begin reaching out to candidates who fit the bill.

We often have Nannies already on our books who are suitable, so once we’ve garnered their interest in your role, they will be sent to you straight away.

Next we will recruit candidates specifically for your role. This is from external sources and can take a few days.

  • As we recruit candidates suitable for your role, we send you their profiles via email.

Each profile contains the Nannies basic info, a photo and their CV.
We include a blurb summarising their personality and experience to give you a snapshot of their suitability.

If you think someone sounds perfect for you, just let us know and we’ll arrange an interview.

We continue to send through profiles until you have met a candidate that you want to make an offer to. There is no cap on the number of profiles you'll receive and we will tailor your search as we go, based on your feedback!

  • We recommend interviewing any candidate you think looks good.
You will gain a better picture of what you like/don’t like as you go through the process.

Check out our Interview Guide for tips and advice on easy starter questions and key topics for discussion. You can dowload this to refer to during interviews alongside the Evaluation Form to really make the most of your interviews.

Some of our families start to interview in-person right away, but if you prefer we can set up an initial virtual interview via zoom, whatsapp or facetime.

When initial interviews are successful we go on to organise a second interview in person or a few hours for a paid trial.

  • All the candidates we place will be fully vetted with a minimum of two employment reference checks.

They are required to have an up to date Paediatric First Aid certificate and a Police Clearance prior to their start date.

Our candidates are often updating these during their Job Search so might not have completed it at the point they are interviewing with you.

They will also have Right to Work in the UK (eg: visa/passport/pre-settled status).

Our candidates commit to a minimum 12 month contract with a family, and we usually find them staying much longer when they find a family they love!

  • When you’ve found a Nanny you love and want to offer your role to, we will go through your job spec with you and confirm the details making sure everything is up to date.

We then take the offer to the candidate and provide you with confirmation when they accept!

At this point our invoice is due in order to confirm the placement.

Our fee is based on 5x the Nannies gross weekly salary +VAT and we have a minimum placement fee of £2,000+VAT.

Included within that Placement Fee is our 3 month Guarantee Period which you can read more about in our terms and conditions.

  • Once your placement is confirmed, we will provide you with a sample Nanny contract to use for your Placement.

Please feel free to send us your draft copy to check over before you send it through to your Nanny for signature.

We work closely with a company called NannyTax, who can support you with all things payroll related. (We have a referral scheme which gives Kindred clients a 10% discount on their services so let us know if you would like to take advantage of this)

Our service continues throughout your entire placement with your chosen Nanny.

We offer an after-care support service where we will regularly check in during the initial months with both you and the Nanny and we are available at any point to help with any questions you may have.

Your Nanny will be invited to join our Kindred Nanny Community.
We hold regular events for our Nannies and their charges throughout the year and we also provide the Nanny with a dedicated support team of ambassadors.
