Find a Nanny/ Housekeeper:

Kindred Nanny/Housekeepers provide excellent all-round help.

  • A Kindred Nanny/Housekeeper is an excellent option if you need more help around the house but still require some wrap-around childcare.

    Nanny/Housekeepers tend to have childcare experience but are not typically qualified.

    A role can be full time or part time, usually full days and we have both Live in and Daily Nanny/Housekeepers.

    A Nanny Housekeeper role can consist of whatever ratio of domestic help vs childcare that you need.
    Your consultant will discuss your needs and help you put together a Job description that realistically covers your requirements.

  • A Nanny/Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining your home to the level you require, whilst also providing childcare around the domestic duties.

    A Nanny/Housekeeper’s duties vary;
    The housekeeping aspect can cover anything from cleaning and tidying, to household errands, meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping and other household shopping and organisation.

    The childcare element will also vary, depending on your requirements. Some families will require before and after school care, and some require a full day or two of childcare incorporated in the role.

    Talk through your requirements with your consultant to find the best set up for your family.

  • As this type of role is so varied, the salary is dictated by the different elements.

    A Daily Nanny/Housekeeper will typically be looking for £19-£22 gross per hour, subject to the number of hours contracted.

    A Live In Nanny/Housekeeper can be looking for anywhere from £550 to £800 gross per week.

    Whether Live in or Daily, the salary will be dictated by the hours, duties required, number and type of childcare vs domestic duties hours, and the ages of the children.

    The main things for you to consider when working out an appropriate salary are:

    • The level of responsibility required in the role

    • The number of children being looked after

    • The ages of your children

    • The level of experience/qualifications you require your Nanny to have

    • The amount of domestic duties you require

    It’s good to discuss and agree a salary ‘range’ with your Consultant when you start your search.

    We usually don’t advertise the absolute top of your range unless you want us to, but it’s helpful for us to know what movement there is when we are matching your role.

  • If you require a Live In Nanny/Housekeeper, the role and salary incorporates full time board and food.

    The Nanny/Housekeeper must be provided with a private bedroom and bathroom (or in some instances a shared bathroom with the children/family)

    It’s important that the bedroom is theirs at all times, even on weekends and holidays or if you have friends or family coming to stay. 

    Some families are able to offer separate accommodation close to the family home; if this is the case they will provide food or a food allowance.
